{"id":845,"date":"2019-12-18T16:53:43","date_gmt":"2019-12-18T16:53:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.operinter.com\/?p=845"},"modified":"2025-08-12T11:52:11","modified_gmt":"2025-08-12T09:52:11","slug":"mega-portacontenedores-en-la-industria-maritima-si-o-no","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/operinter.com\/en\/2019\/12\/18\/mega-portacontenedores-en-la-industria-maritima-si-o-no\/","title":{"rendered":"Mega portacontenedores en la industria mar\u00edtima, \u00bfs\u00ed o no?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Una de las tendencias actuales en la industria mar\u00edtima mundial es la construcci\u00f3n de grandes portacontenedores o mega buques \u2013tambi\u00e9n llamados <strong>post-panamax<\/strong>&#8211; y que superan los <strong>20.000 TEUs de capacidad<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Por ejemplo, ahora mismo, el <strong>astillero chino<\/strong> Hudong-Zhonghua trabaja en la construcci\u00f3n de un portacontenedores con una capacidad de 25.000 TEUs y, adem\u00e1s, con la particularidad de que estar\u00e1 propulsado por <strong>gas natural licuado<\/strong> (GNL). Este proyecto marcar\u00e1 un nuevo hito en el tama\u00f1o de los portacontenedores que, actualmente, lidera la serie, en construcci\u00f3n, de <strong>11 unidades<\/strong> con capacidad para 23.656 TEUs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.operinter.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Operinter<\/a>, como la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.operinter.com\/la-red-internacional-de-operinter-la-mejor-opcion-para-el-comercio-global\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">opci\u00f3n m\u00e1s eficiente<\/a> del comercio internacional y con oficinas en cuatro de los cinco continentes, no es ajena a esta <strong>tendencia de la industria<\/strong> para asegurar siempre el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.operinter.com\/maritimo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">mejor servicio<\/a> a sus clientes. Esta corriente de los grandes buques comenz\u00f3 hace unos a\u00f1os con la entrada en vigor de la serie Triple E capaces de surcar las principales <strong>rutas de navegaci\u00f3n mundial<\/strong> transportando contenedores de hasta 18.340 TEUs.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 surgieron?<\/h2>\n<p>Los mega buques surgieron a ra\u00edz de la necesidad de las compa\u00f1\u00edas navieras de lograr las m\u00e1ximas <strong>econom\u00edas de escala y ahorrar costes<\/strong> para compensar algunos mercados de carga menos potentes. En resumen lo que en el lenguaje econ\u00f3mico llamamos <strong>optimizaci\u00f3n<\/strong>. Seg\u00fan algunos estudios una mega nave de 18.000 TEUs necesitar\u00eda una utilizaci\u00f3n de, al menos, <strong>el 91% para lograr un ahorro de costes<\/strong>, algo que no siempre es f\u00e1cil incluso en la ruta <strong>Europa- Lejano Oriente<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Este auge de los grandes portacontenedores se ha visto como uno de los<strong> principales impulsores del crecimiento en la industria del transporte mar\u00edtimo<\/strong> y, adem\u00e1s, de las grandes alianzas mundiales de navieras. Concentraci\u00f3n que, por otro lado, est\u00e1 ejerciendo una presi\u00f3n considerable sobre las tarifas de transporte en casi todas las rutas comerciales.<\/p>\n<h2>Dependencia de la econom\u00eda global<\/h2>\n<p>Estos grandes buques, no obstante, <strong>dependen mucho de las fluctuaciones de la econom\u00eda mundial<\/strong> ya que, en situaciones m\u00e1s inestables o de recesi\u00f3n, resulta m\u00e1s complejo <strong>ocuparlos<\/strong> y que no dejen de ser rentables.<\/p>\n<p>Por otro lado, la mayor\u00eda de los puertos todav\u00eda no tienen la capacidad ni las instalaciones para manejar estos <strong>portacontenedores post panamax<\/strong>, especialmente, en las zonas menos desarrolladas del planeta. Ahora mismo <strong>en el Canal de Panam\u00e1 <\/strong>se pueden manejar<strong> hasta los 15.000 TEU<\/strong>, que es mucho menos de lo que est\u00e1n hechos la nueva generaci\u00f3n de los grandes buques, y de ah\u00ed su denominaci\u00f3n (post-panamax). Como consecuencia existe un <strong>gran desaf\u00edo<\/strong> donde la <strong>infraestructura y los canales<\/strong> no se mueven tan r\u00e1pido como la construcci\u00f3n de barcos.<\/p>\n<p>Finalmente, y no menos importante, hay que tener en cuenta dos aspectos m\u00e1s a la hora de operar con estos buques. Por un lado resulta <strong>m\u00e1s costoso en tiempo<\/strong> las tareas de desestiba ya que se tarda m\u00e1s de lo normal en descargarlos, y, por otro lado, tambi\u00e9n las <strong>operaciones de almac\u00e9n y log\u00edstica<\/strong> en el puerto de destino son m\u00e1s complejas ya que hay que gestionar la recepci\u00f3n de mayor n\u00famero de contenedores al mismo tiempo.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Una de las tendencias actuales en la industria mar\u00edtima mundial es la construcci\u00f3n de grandes portacontenedores o mega buques \u2013tambi\u00e9n llamados post-panamax&#8211; y que superan los 20.000 TEUs de capacidad.
